Photovoltaic solar panel roof above counterweights of 9.8 kWatts at Heraklion

Our customer asked us to consider mounting the photovoltaic aluminum base on counterweights in order to avoid drilling the insulation during anchoring. A special static load design and simulation of seismic vibrations were carried out. The photovoltaic weights were manufactured from reinforced concrete, dimensioned according to the design and located at predefined positions according to the design. The panels were installed almost horizontally with multiple clamp mechanisms in order to reduce the impact of the strongest winds observed at Crete. The material of the base structure is anodized aluminum to withstand the large salinity concentration.

Project location: Keratokampos-Kastri, Heraklion Crete, Greece
